Customer-Supplied Garments Policy

Important Disclaimer for Garments Supplied by Customers

Please read this policy before providing your own garments for printing, embroidery or any other customisation by KMVT Workwear.

Important Information

Customer-supplied garments are accepted for customisation at the customer’s own risk. This means KMVT Workwear cannot guarantee the same result as we can with garments supplied directly by us.

By supplying your own garments, you accept that fabric type, garment quality, age, previous washing, coatings, seams, zips, pockets and construction can all affect the final print or embroidery result.

Garments Supplied at Customer’s Own Risk

When you provide your own garments, KMVT Workwear will take reasonable care during printing, embroidery or customisation.

However, customer-supplied garments are provided at the customer’s own risk. We cannot be responsible for replacing or refunding the garment itself if the issue is caused by the garment’s fabric, quality, construction, condition or suitability for customisation.

Fabric and Garment Suitability

Not all garments are suitable for printing or embroidery. Some fabrics may react badly to heat, pressure, needles, backing materials, adhesives or production processes.

Problems may include heat marks, fabric shine, scorch marks, stretching, shrinkage, puckering, dye migration, colour bleeding, stitching distortion or poor print adhesion.

Heat Press and Print Risks

Some garments may be sensitive to heat or pressure used during print application. This can affect fabrics such as polyester, coated garments, waterproof garments, softshells, delicate materials or unknown fabric blends.

KMVT Workwear is not responsible for heat damage, press marks, colour changes, coating damage, garment shrinkage or print failure caused by the fabric or garment not being suitable for the selected print method.

Embroidery Risks

Embroidery places stitches directly through the garment fabric. Some garments may not support embroidery well because of thin material, stretch fabric, waterproof layers, padding, seams, linings or poor garment construction.

Possible embroidery issues may include puckering, needle marks, small holes, fabric distortion, thread tension marks or reduced detail. These risks are higher on garments not supplied or tested by KMVT Workwear.

Seams, Pockets, Zips and Panels

Garment construction can affect where a logo or design can be placed. Seams, pockets, zips, buttons, linings, panels and uneven surfaces may limit print or embroidery positions.

If a requested position is not suitable, we may recommend an alternative position. Final placement may vary slightly depending on the garment’s construction and available decoration area.

Used or Washed Garments

Garments that have been worn, washed, stretched, dried, treated, coated or exposed to chemicals may not produce a reliable print or embroidery result.

We strongly recommend supplying clean, new garments where possible. Any marks, wear, shrinkage, fabric weakness or previous treatment may affect the finished result.

Customer Responsibility

The customer is responsible for checking that supplied garments are suitable for the requested customisation method.

The customer is also responsible for checking garment sizes, colours, quantities, condition, fabric labels and any care instructions before the garments are supplied to KMVT Workwear.

No Guarantee on Customer-Supplied Garments

Because KMVT Workwear has not sourced or tested customer-supplied garments, we cannot guarantee the final result, durability, wash performance or suitability of decoration on those garments.

We will always aim to produce the best result possible, but customer-supplied garments do not carry the same guarantee as garments supplied directly by KMVT Workwear.

Damage, Failed Decoration or Unsuitable Garments

If a customer-supplied garment is damaged, reacts badly, fails during customisation or produces a poor result because of the garment itself, KMVT Workwear will not be responsible for replacing the garment.

In some cases, we may still charge for the work carried out, artwork preparation, logo setup, print materials or embroidery setup, even if the garment is not suitable or the final result is affected by the supplied item.

Testing and Advice

If you are unsure whether your garment is suitable, please contact us before placing an order. We can give general advice based on the garment type and customisation method.

Advice is given in good faith, but it cannot fully remove the risks linked to customer-supplied garments, especially when the fabric, coating, construction or garment history is unknown.

Agreement Before Work Starts

By asking KMVT Workwear to customise garments supplied by you, you confirm that you understand and accept the risks explained in this policy.

Work will only be carried out on the understanding that customer-supplied garments are provided at the customer’s own risk.
